Reimagining this historic building to inspire worship and serve the community in Mexborough for generations to come.
Every church in the Church of England requires a thorough inspection of the building every 5 years by an architect. In our last inspection, urgent repairs were identified in the Bell Tower and the external stonework. This work will form Phases 1 and 2 of a four-phase project.
At Easter 2026, work on the bell frame was completed and our bells rang joyously for the first time in four years on Easter Sunday.
Phase 2, repairs and restoration to the stonework, began in May 2026, starting with the tower and spire. The remainder of the repairs will be completed in Spring 2027 when we have raised the remaining funds required. Phases 3 and 4 are for improvements inside the church which will provide better facilities and a more flexible space to benefit the whole community.
If we are to achieve our goals, it will require us to raise a large sum of money, which we plan to do through grant awards, fundraising activities and donations.
If you would like to make a donation to restore our town’s wonderful parish church, you will be making a valuable contribution to the preservation of Mexborough’s heritage.
